Accreditations & Affiliations
At Brothers Services Ltd, we are very keenly aware of the responsibilities we have to our customers, our staff and to the wider communities within which we operate.
We are proud that our business remains in ‘private ownership’ and that the company is still run today by the two brothers that founded it. We make it in our interest that there are family values still in the heart of our corporate company, the same values that laid the foundations to Brothers. We have actively made significant investments to ensure that we have world-class certification and accreditations in all areas of our business:
Quality management ISO 9001:2008
ISO 9001 is the internationally recognised standard for quality management system. This accreditation provides guidance on how Brothers can continually improve the business’ quality management system. It also contains information on managing for sustained success.
Sustainability and Environmental standards ISO 14001:2004
ISO 14001 is the internationally recognised standard for the environmental management system. It prescribes controls for those activities that have an effect on the environment. These include the use of natural resources, handling and treatment of waste and energy consumption.
Health and Safety Standards OHSAS 18001: 2007
OHSAS 18001 is the internationally recognised standard for occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Management System. It provides a framework for Brothers to identify and control its health and safety risks, reduce the potential for accidents, comply with legislation and improve operational performance.
Construction Online Accredited Contractor
Constructionline helps both buyers and suppliers achieve savings in cost and time spent filling in forms. The relationships that Constructionline maintain with other industry organisations, means that their details are available to users not only from the buyer organisations registered with Constructionline, but also to all users from organisations we have established working relationships with.
Registered Company with Environment Agency
The Agency is the main regulator of discharges to air, water, and land – under the provisions of a series of Acts of Parliament. It does this through the issue of formal consents to discharge or, in the case of large, complex or potentially damaging industries by means of a permit.
British Institute of Facility Maintenance
The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) is the professional body for facilities management (FM) in the UK. Founded in 1993, the Institute represents and promotes the interest of members and the wider FM community.
SSIP - Safety Schemes In Procurement
Since its launch in 2009, SSIP activity has increasingly been able to cut pre-qualification costs and bureaucracy in the supply chain. With the ever-present prospect of government legislation to reduce wasteful and excessive pre-qualification, SSIP is concentrating on making cross-recognition of member schemes as effective as possible, and on highlighting the resulting savings to the supply chain.
CHAS - The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme
In 1997 a group of health and safety and procurement professionals from across Great Britain worked with the Association of London Government (ALG) to develop CHAS. In 2001 CHAS became a web-based system.
These days we have more than 500 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ sub-contractors.
Achilles - BuildingConfidence
The suppliers who subscribe to Achilles BuildingConfidence will undergo a rigorous audit to assess their capability, competence and compliance in line with the relevant audit protocol. The purpose of the audit is to validate your pre-qualification questionnaire face-to-face with an auditor at your premises, and identify areas for business improvement and risk reduction.
BuildUK - Builders Profile
Builder’s Profile is the open-access Common Database service providing compliance and PQQ information to the construction industry. Our secure common database enables subcontractors and suppliers to easily maintain and share information. For main contractors and clients it provides all the information, documents and tools required to manage a supply chain no matter how large or small.
SMAS - Safety Manament Assessment Specialistis
Working with many of the major UK house builders we have developed experience and expertise in new build construction but we also deal with many other construction organisations.
All of our assessments are undertaken In-House allowing us to offer a consistent standard across assessments. The minimum standards we assess against are clearly set out in the SSIP Core Criteria. The skill of the assessor is to interpret the information provided and ensure it relates to the nature and scope of the business being assessed.
