Steam is an ideal resource for cleaning and disinfecting. It acts as a natural surface-active agent, dissolving grease particles and reaching even the most inaccessible areas. Heat allows steam to detach and dissolve dirt, freeing and capturing all grease, germs, bacteria and dust mite particles in its passage, delivering an extraordinarily fast, safe and hygienic system. With steam cleaning there is no cross-contamination and there is no need to disinfect cleaning utensils after use.
A study concluded that the steam cleaning technique has a proven ability to raise levels of both aesthetic and microbiological cleanliness. Brothers Services has invested in training and equipment and with vast experience in hygienic deep cleaning we can deliver a fast response solutions to your premises.
What is 'Dry' Steam Vapor?
Water is put into a special tank or boiler that under pressure super heats the water to temperatures up to 180ºC, converting it into hot dry steam. Steam is called ‘dry’ if it only contains around 5% to 6% water and is much less dense than the air we breathe. As it is applied to the surface “dry” steam leaves very little residue and almost touch dry, especially when compared to any other cleaning method.
How does it work?
Dry steam dissolves grease, kills germs in an instant and sanitises every surface it touches, penetrating cracks, crevices and other hard-to-reach areas where manual and traditional cleaning methods which mainly rely on potentially hazardous chemicals fail to achieve the required standards.
In addition to its remarkable cleaning and sanitising properties, dry steam is a powerful degreasing tool which can be harnessed and put to good use in many industrial applications, easily emulsifying grease, oil and other surface contaminates and providing significant savings when compared to alternative methods.
At Brothers Services, steam cleaning is one of our key services and we provide to many sectors including industrial, education, commercial and health. Our typical clients are food factories, school nurseries and primary schools, hotels, care homes, dental clinics and chiropractic clinics and also hospitals.
A typical circumstance is:
A care home has an outbreak of illness and after they have been clear for forty eight hours, then we would be called in to carry out a full steam deep clean to decontaminate the premises mainly including all fabric surfaces (upholstery, carpet, curtains and beds), kitchen, hard flooring, toilets/en-suites and all other rooms.
This service is highly recommended by Health Protection Agency (HPA), and the best practice is an annual periodical steam deep cleaning of care homes should be carried out despite any outbreaks of illness.
